Home-made play-dough the same as Play-Doh..

Do your children like play-dough? Of course they do. Kids love it. There is only one problem – it becomes hard fast and a set of few original cups is expensive. But we have a solution – a recipe for home-made play-dough, which you can easily (and at almost no cost) make in your kitchen.

We have two recipes (one is more difficult because it requires boiling and the second is easier – for children, without boiling).

PLAY-DOUGH WITH BOILING

(parental supervisory required)

Ingredients:
2 glasses of wheat flour
2 glasses of warm water
1 glass of evaporated salt
2 spoons of vegetable oil (not too much because next day it will flow out from play-dough)
1 teaspoon of baking powder
few drops of favorite essential oil ( almond, vanilla, rose)
food or natural dyes

Instructions:

Mix all ingredients and boil this mixture on a low heat stirring it until it starts to form a uniform sphere. It means that play-dough is almost ready. Stirring requires a lot of power.
Wait until the material cools off and knead it until you get a soft non-sticky mass. Portion the mass into smaller pieces and add different color dye to each piece. You can also dye the mass with raspberry juice, carrot juice, blackberry juice, curcuma, red pepper.

PLAY-DOUGH WITHOUT BOILING

(it can be made by children without parental supervisory)

Ingredients:

1/2 glass of evaporated salt
1/2 glass of warm water
1 glass of wheat flour
2 teaspoons of vegetable oil
2 teaspoons of lemon juice
food or natural dyes
few drops of favorite essential oil (almond, vanilla, rose)

Instructions:
Mix all ingredients and knead them for approximately 10 minutes until you get a non-sticky sphere. At the end add dyes.

This home-made play-dough is really fantastic. With the above recipe you get a lot of material, it is very cheap and fast to do. And it doesn’t dry as fast as the original one. After playing, you can put it in tightly closed containers and store for the next time. We hope you will use it many times as it is a great, creative play for children.
